Wonder Wednesday. . .ice cubes
- How long will it take for the ice cubes to melt?
- Does friction affect how long it takes the ice cubes to melt?
- How fast can the ice cubes slide?
- How far can the ice cubes slide?
- If we stack the ice cubes, how long will it take the stacked ice cubes to freeze together?
What do you wonder?

Make Your Mark
collaboration. We read Peter H. Reynolds's "Creatrilogy"; The Dot, Ish and Sky Color. These three books fabulously relay a message of inspiration, confidence, and making a difference (or mark) in the world. After reading Vashti's, Ramon's, and Marisol's stories and viewing dots made by famous authors (celebridots) each student created their own DOT. We culminated the week with a Dot Share with our Sister Classroom, Ms. Copland's 4th graders. The conversations, effort and time put into their art work showed true courage and collaboration to create.
How will you make your mark?
Peace One Day 2013
For the past month students have been asked to keep a Gratitude Journal for homework. This was a place to reflect on the positive and notice the people, actions and situations that we are grateful for. Students were also asked to perform an act of kindness each day. No matter how small,
everyday acts of kindness can help make peace. To celebrate our journal writing we are joining Peace One Day who invited people around the world to give this wonderful idea special focus on Peace Day 21 September.
Together the class brainstormed what peace means and how we can make peace. They then shared their personal thoughts for the video below, "On Peace Day 21 September… What can you say to make peace with someone? …who will you make peace with?"
