“We read to know we are not alone.” - C.S. Lewis
Recently read . . .
I just finished reading Timmy Failure: Mistakes
Were Made by Stephan Pastis. I enjoyed this funny
book. There is some new vocabulary to learn through the pages of this middle grade book. I used lots of inferring as I laughed at Timmy's absurd thinking and understanding. If you like humorous books you might want to give this one a try.
Currently reading . . .
I am familiar with some of John Grisham's adult novels. I have enjoyed his quick reads on the beach. So, when Theodore Boone's middle grade series was highly recommended to me by a former student, A.J., I just knew I had to read one. Only 50 pages in, and it is a page turner. I am asking questions to myself to try to solve the mystery of what happened to April. I can't wait to gather more clues and figure it out.
On Deck . . .
My book on deck is Football Genius by Tim Green. I read Unstoppable by Tim Green and I love his writing style. I was pulled into his story from the very beginning. I like his short chapters that end in a cliff hanger every time. I just never wanted to put the book down. I am excited to try another of his many sports books.
